The Arizona Gakuen School

is the only school in Arizona that teaches its curriculum in Japanese. Since its inception in 1991. The AGS has provided a Japanese language setting for both native speakers, and children who are learning Japanese as a second language.

There are two levels of kindergarten, an Elementary School (grades 1-6), a Junior High School (grades 7-9), and three classes in Japanese as a second language. The AGS has approximately 206 students, 17 teachers and 13 teaching assistants.
